The room had dirty walls the people across from our room were smoking so our room stunk like cigarettes and I want to say maybe a hint of ammonia. The air conditioning was so loud we slept with the tv on to drowned out the sound of it. On the wall next to the bathroom mirror was what looked like blood stains. We were exhausted from a very long drive it was very late at night and only needed a few hours of sleep so we stuck it out. Went down for breakfast and the floor in the breakfast area had food spilled on the floor that I had seen the night before and it was still there in the am. I don’t recommend this hotel which is crazy because I have always stayed at Holiday Inn because they were always so well kept but not this one.

Maintenance is not a top priority for this hotel. We had used this hotel a year ago and no issues with the hotel overall, this visit a year later was a completely different experience. Elevator issues - Only 1 elevator was functional of the 2 on property. The inside the functional elevator control panel is very loose. Room issues – Microwave missing knobs Center room light fixture made buzzing sound and did not light. Bathroom towel holder was falling off the wall Bathroom door handle was broken, but the door was crooked enough to stay closed when pulled closed. Breakfast – Was ok but the morning I did eat the food was not great it was cold and not prepared well. Cleanliness- Room was clean, bedding and all overall surfaces were all good. On two separate days 2 large cockroaches were seen on the ground floor in the hallway in the vicinity of the kitchen. Staff- The night front desk agent seemed to be more interested in a person in the parking lot than the actual hotel customers. They were very friendly and helpful, but only when you caught the person at the front desk.

Clean hotel and friendly employees. Booked a room for 4 people. We had a room with a king and a pull out couch. There was no bedding in the room for the sleeper couch. I had to ask the front desk for bedding. They gave it to me, but there were no pillows for it. Then our room had 3 towels for 4 people. Again asked the front desk for towels. They didn’t have any. Only little pool towels.

I booked a room for 4 people however the pull out did not have linens or pilllows. When I called the front desk they said I had to come there to retrieve them which is fine. However, it was one blanket and one fitted sheet. No top sheet and more importantly no pillows. When I asked the woman at the desk just said “sorry we don’t have any”. When I asked what my children are supposed to use to sleep on I received a “I’m sorry” without a solution. I asked for a blanket or something to put in a pillow case. She came out with two small towels in a pillow case. Completely unacceptable! How can there not be enough pillows for a room. I could see if I was asking for more.

Hotel lobby was clean and smelt wonderful. Room was clean but old and dated. Parts of carpet ripped up in room, smelt “old”, rust in bathroom etc. Pool area had a horrible odor. Breakfast was ok. Overall ok place to stay but way overpriced.

Don’t Expect Customer Service Here.

We ended up needing only one night instead of two. We messaged the hotel to let them know we wouldn’t be there until Saturday. They gave away our room. I paid for the full night and didn’t even get past the lobby. The front desk was not very helpful and seemed annoyed at us. We ended up staying at another hotel that was way nicer and closer to our event. Supposedly, they were sold out of rooms and didn’t even make recommendations or offer any kind of support.

Late check out.

My wife and I had spent the day at Kings Dominion so we didn’t check in until later that evening. So we requested a late check-out so we could sleep in a little bit before we continued our drive. Front desk said that we could have a 12:00 check out. And it wasn’t even 10:30 and housekeeping is knocking at the door attempting to come in i explained that we had a 12:00 check out. Not even an hour later they at the door again. This time I went to the desk instead of just calling. And all front desk could say that they were sorry because it was documented.

Although the staff seemed to be very courteous and helpful, the room was very dirty upon arrival. There was trash behind the night stand and a brown- colored liquid splashed on the walls. (The desk clerk offered us a different room.)
