The front desk was friendly and the hotel was clean. It feels more like a 3-star hotel given the rooms only have the absolute basics. (i.e. There’s no lotion, microwave, hair dryer, etc.) The housekeeping service could be better- in their efforts to remain as eco-friendly as possible, they did not replace our used coffee cups at all during our 3-night stay. Also, the amenities are ~$50 daily per person if you want access. Overall, I expected more perks/extras out of a 4-star hotel.

Chic, clean and comfortable hotel. The shower, bathrobes and bedding were excellent. About 10 min drive to downtown Reykjavik. Wedding reception dinner at Satt was delicious. The planes can be loud at night if your room faces the airport side of the hotel. Staff was helpful and friendly. I would stay again.

There is nothing nearby accept for a noisy local airport (helicopters, small planes) and construction work. You have to walk through a huge construction area to get to the avenue that takes you downtown or museums. I do not understand this location. Nice pool that hotel guests can only use for a fee--at this price point and with this poor location accessibility to the pool should be a free amenity. Restaurant menu has very limited options.

The room was dark, when you pull the shower curtain, you cant see anything!. staff were so unfriendly. Especially the evening staff. We asked a few questions about access to the hotel in early hours of the morning as we were on a northern lights trip, the front staff were so unfriendly to even explain clearly. The front staff didnt provide any information on spa facilities, about restaurant nothing.

The hotel is a typical four star, breakfast was included and that’s a buffet breakfast quality acceptable but nothing great, the rooms were good quality bedding was good facilities in the rooms as expected. The spa was excellent however the floor was incredibly slippery and I was not warned about this , and slipped and damaged my toe. They did not allow early check-in without an exorbitant fee, unlike most hotels Will if have the room available.

You may end up getting moved to another hotel

Got a phone call just after landing in Iceland to be told they’d moved us to the Marina hotel as they had no rooms left… even though I’d booked this months in advance. This wasn’t ideal seeing as I’d booked this hotel specifically because it had parking. So beware when booking this hotel - you may end up somewhere else. The Marina hotel was alright, in a good location in Reykjavik but the lack of parking wasn’t great.
