Amazing historical hotel

Fantastic service and a really great historical hotel. Well preserved and updated. Loved the self guided tour. Went to the spa and sat in the salt room which was a relaxing and refreshing experience. Definitely recommend

Disappointed for the First Time

We've always had a wonderful experience at the St. James, having stayed there many times. This time was not as excellent as all the others. Our room was the smallest space we've ever had. At 6:30 am workers began painting the room across the hall. They had a radio playing (I stepped outside to ask them to turn it down (which they did), but the work continued. Outside our window other workers began working on the roof of the building next door at 7:45 am. More noise. Needless to say we were less than pleased to be awakened that early. The hotel was not full, so I don't understand why the front desk people put is in that room when there were other options.

Great place!

Outside of the front desk staff, it was nice as usual. Miss the clerk we had a few years ago, he was over the top friendly and welcoming. The history and area around the hotel is great, and the St. James itself is a gem. Will be back.

The manager at the property was amazing. We were upgraded to a junior suite for Christmas and a free bottle of Champagne Cleaning staff very helpful. Food was superior. It was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend staying here!
