Property was undergoing renovations/repairs in certain areas. Our suite while comfortable could use some upgrades like the carpet which shows fraying and minor tears.

Our stay at DoubleTree surprised us. We were only there for 4 nights. Upon check-in, we didn’t have toilet paper and our room only had 1 small trash bin. Rooms are very old and dirty. We had a LIVE cockroach crawling on the window. We then found several dead bugs along the window on the floor. Housekeeping came quickly to vacuum and clean the room fully. They did not offer to move us to another room. They provided NO housekeeping for the next three days—we had to ask for towels, toilet paper, and to have trash removed. Front desk and management acted like they had no idea what was going on or why we weren’t receiving any regular cleaning services on our floor. Kids splashing and jumping everywhere in the pool. Must walk through lobby & bar to get to pool, bar and breakfast are both overpriced and not great. Assistant manager couldn’t help us regarding housekeeping and cleanliness issues but offered drink and breakfast stipends. Front desk supervisor apologized at the end of our stay and offered partial refund for our experience. I’ve stayed with many hotels, many Hilton-owned chains and have never, ever had such poor service as we did during this stay. Pay more and stay somewhere else without BUGS!

We were visiting Portland, ME from Chicago and just went for a couple hours of pool time, The Docent Collection where we were staying doesnt have a pool. Pool was relatively empty, clean, and staff was helpful.
