Good for the price

Good location! Easy access, close to downtown and lots of parking on site. The room was fair, some visible maintenance issues mostly in the bathroom. There was also a dirty towel left in the shower. We reserved a queen bed however the room had a double bed (but it was comfortable).

It was clean and in a convenient location. However, our aor conditioner was deficit and did not cool the room. It msinly blew warm air. We pefer a vooler sleeping environment and it was problematic.

THIS LA QUINTA NOW CHARGES A DAILY PARKING FEE

We have stayed at this hotel for at least 5 times when we were in Maine, but now you charge a $10 parking fee that was not part of the listing! When we return to Maine in 2026 if a parking fee is still added to the rate we will find other accommodations.

Incredibly convenient location close to the train station and bus right to downtown Portland, plus a nice walk to the baseball field, Holy Donut, and Deering Oaks park. Staff was kind, professional, and helpful, and the property and rooms were very clean. Made my trip to Portland that much better!

Easy Uber ride to downtown Portland Port area

The La Quinta in Portland delivered the typical La Quinta experience, which is perfectly fine in my opinion. The location was great if you were going to some of the sports stadiums in town. But it was not walking distance to the old port. However, for six or seven dollar Uber ride it was definitely well worthwhile for the savings versus being in the port area. The hot breakfast that is included was fine with a waffle maker and plenty of other choices.
