The hotel is okay- nothing overly fancy and you can tell they are doing renovations, to improve which is always a plus. I do have two recommendations 1) a full size mirror in the rooms, it was odd not having that 2) another elevator it’s only 3 floors but super slow if you caught it in between trips.

The hotel itself and the rooms were very clean. Great location in downtown Plymouth! The pool area was decent. The kids loved the water slide, but it needs a little facelift - some insulation was falling out of the ceiling, and I think it's seen better days. Granted, we were there during a rain storm, the roof was leaking onto the bed and floor. Prices were a little expensive given the quality of the building, but the location was great.

Although the hallways and other areas are showing signs of wear (I.e. torn wallpaper, stained carpet) the room was nicely arranged and clean. The room did have a leaking toilet, however given the limited amount of time spent in the room it did not become a big problem. The location is superb and walking distance to restaurants and the waterfront! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

The best thing about the hotel is its location — it’s in the center and within walking distance to the ocean. But the room itself is dark, the mattress and pillows are soft and uncomfortable, it’s very noisy — you can even hear conversations from neighboring rooms. And the air conditioner makes a loud humming sound.

We checked in after 8 pm and immediately went out to get dinner. Found a good restaurant around the corrner still serving food. We went back and fell asleep. In the a.m. i caught a whiff of urine, but thought it was unflushed toilet. We quickly got ready & had a good breakfast in the hotel restaurant. It was cooked to order, which i prefer vs buffet. We were gone all day until about 9 pm. We had left the window open but it was closed and i smelled urine again. It was obvoius that a previous guest had peed on carpet between the queen beds. It was dry, but thats where order ce from. We opened window and reported the issue at 8:30 the next a.m. Desk clerk seemed skeptical, (pet free hotel) and not very concerned. I asked to have our room serviced and carpet cleaned. We went out on another full day adventure, upon returning the odor lingered. Apparently staff had sprayed carpet fresh or something then vacuumed. Half assed effort. Since we were leaving next day, i went to desk and requested air freshener or lysol to cover odor. The clerk said i should have reported earlier...which i did before 8:30 that a.m. He gave me a can of autumn scent which i sprayed all over the carpet. Slept with window open again Overall, this didnt ruin our stay, but i felt it should have been handled with more diligence and concern. The room.renovations since i stayed there 2 years ago were a nice update, but they may want to rethink carpet around beds.

When we checked in they gave us a list of the pool rules and wristbands. But when we went to the pool, although there was an attendant there was no body checking wristbands or even trying to enforce rules as kids came in without adults, the parents did came later. They was running around and jumping into the pool dispite signs against this. The hallway to the had a rotten smell that we was told was from the kitchen. You could hear other people talking in the rooms around you. They are within a remodeling do i hope they are address these issues with that but the room looked like it was recently updated.

Hey, at a great day at John Carver Inn went to a couple great restaurants. Everything was walking distance a lot of shopping beautiful scenery. Would recommend this to anyone.
