Central location within a 5 minute walk for all that Petropolis has to offer. Great breakfast in a comfortable setting. Nice swimming pool area to relax. We had an issue with the toilet in our room and as the hotel couldn’t repair quickly they moved us to another room.

Everyone was super friendly…however, we were disappointed with our stay. The first room was like a closet turned into a room. We were offered a slightly larger room when I asked at reception (both rooms in a pretty rundown outbuilding) - but we then had to move again as the bed in the ‘upgraded room’ was full of bugs. Probably carpet beetle larvae. The third room was OK - as it was in one of the main buildings. But that’s as far as I could go. It was tired. And don’t feel clean. We stayed all over as we were doing a tour of Brasil - this was the one place that disappointed us most in terms of how it is described and the reality of the accommodation. I’m sure at one point it was grand. Our experience was very jaded, and faded grandeur.

Decent hotel. I was attracted by the charm of the place, but it didn’t quite meet expectations. We stayed in an annex to the back. However, it was clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were very good. Wi-Fi signal was poor in our room.

Good stay. Place needs some love by the owners

Good stay overall, staff were super friendly. The building really needs a renovation, a lot of water damage around, the floor in our room was buckling. Door handle to the bathroom fell off but that was because the bolt needed to be tightened as it was an extremely old door handle. Breakfast was decent. They just need to send a handyman around to each room and go over everything to make sure it’s in working order. Also a coat of paint would go a long way to making the place look better.

Hotel Casablanca Imperial may have been one of the most charming places I have ever stayed. Several of the buildings are old (but well maintained) structures from the Imperial Era. It is located pretty much next door to the Museu Imperial and is a short walk to the cathedral and Rua do Imperador. The staff was very nice. We also had probably the best breakfast of the trip.

Nice old building, well-maintained. Friendly staff and the room was quite. The compound has a number of small buildings, some of the quite modern construction. The room was very small, located in a modern building. I was disappointed and feel that we did not get a good value for a double deluxe room. I expected something much better. Probably would stay somewhere else next time.

Front desk lady was not nice, room was noisy. breakfast was great and crew at breakfast were nice and polite. Good location (right next to the museum and waking distance from stuff) I think it could have being a very good hotel but it’s lacking good managing. I don’t regret staining there but I wouldn’t stay again.
