We went for a long weekend to hike Mount San Jacinto and ride the tram and brought our dog. We had a great stay. Hotel was clean, safe, quiet, and the bed was comfortable. The only bad thing was their coffee in the room, probably the worst coffee we ever had…lol. Also, I wish they would offer a late check out as most hotels do. They gave us a half hour only when I asked for one and they wanted to charge $25 beyond that, so that was something new we weren’t used to but wasn’t the end of the world.

Parking is easy. Great staff! Beautiful pool, hot tub, common areas with games, vending machines and microwaves. Simple, no frills room with a medium size fridge, blow dryer, sound machine.

loved the hotel—the room was by far my favourite. very cute, modern vibes and the bed/pillows were comfy. the staff were sweet and friendly. the area is in downtown palm springs—close to bars, shops, restaurants. there’s a ton of gay bars in the area, which was a nice bonus.

The reviews I read, ranted about how good the pool was. When I made my way to take a swim, the water was murky and did not look particularly inviting or clean. I think this comes from many rooms in a large hotel using the same pool, thus lots of individual body grime ending up in the water. The noisy AC unit in my room ran non stop the entire time, yet did not blow cool air. This made my one night stay a bit uncomfortable. Front desk staff was very nice. They also have loaner bikes which is a nice little bonus. The Dunes hotel is competitively priced for Palm Springs, just expect to get what you pay for.
