We landed at the L3 Oasis, because another hotel we’d reserved canceled our modernism week reservation.
The L3 Hotel has lots going for it, and a few issues that came up (reflected in other comments as well).
First the good:
The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
The location is slightly removed from the heavy action of downtown Palm Springs but still super walkable (not so much in summer months).
The room furniture is really nice, great spindle bed, lovely credenza and chair. The grounds are nice too, water efficient landscaping, with two clean, lovely pools.
It’s the details that get the L3 Oasis tripped up.
The not so good:
For a desert hotel, the pool is a major attraction. Unfortunately, the furniture is good looking from far away, but broken and rickety. The pool towels are very small, and thin. They look more like housekeeping towels than pool towels. Suggest investing in sturdier pool furniture and more luxurious pool towels.
Internet was inconsistent, couldn’t watch a full movie without constant buffering. Suggest upgrading.
Mattress thin/hard. Not the most comfortable. Suggest upgrading the mattresses.
Sink was almost unusable because the faucet is so large, and the plumbing backed up in the shower. Consider a more fitting size faucet.
Finally, the walls between the rooms were so thin as to be nonexistent. We could clearly hear every word of our neighbor’s conversations and every flush. For a light sleeper, this is a non negotiable.
