Room was really large and nice compared to other Motel 6 ive stayed. Fairly close to beach so price was fair. But staff needs to hire security. First night there crackheads were smoking crack in stairwells. They expected everyone to just walk over their belongings on stairs. Trash on Stairs was left there for three days and never cleaned or picked up. Also, didnt notice any grass patches for pets...only a dirty small space near the fence. Lots of homeless crackheads this area. But for a cheaper motel 6...not bad, just needs work on the basics.

Not a bad place, but could use improvement

Was given a room, went to enter the room and someone was alreay in it. Went back to the front desk, told them there was someone in the room already, guy at the desk said "no there isnt". I threw to room key down and told him to go check for himself. He gave us another room, and that room was what i was expecting. Nothing more.

I booked this accommodation last October when I planned my trip under a completely different name. However, after I booked they sold and nobody notified me or told me that that they would not be honoring any reservations made under the old name after May 1st. May 30th I show up and I do not have a room. They only had one room left that would not work for us as my sister is disabled and needed her own bed. We tried to call and ask about our reservation a week prior to going and were told somebody would call us back and they never did. Expedia tried several times to contact them with no luck. Now I know it’s because there was no reservation, but somebody somewhere still had my money. Expedia made it right by covering another hotel for us immediately!

Rough stay

The stay was ok. There was a leak in the parking that gave the area a bad smell but they tried to fix. There was confusion when I extended a night. Instead of extending the reservation, they started a reservation in which I had to go back to the office to check back in. Then the maid, not understanding the situation got frustrated because she was trying to make me leave after o explained to her the situation but she never checked the office until afterwards.

I should have read the reviews more thoroughly before booking here. I loved the location, super close to restaurants, cafes, the harbor & Camp Pendleton. The rooms are in fact horrible, as soon as i entered my room- i was hit with a horrible smell. It was a mix of dog pee, cigarettes & mildew. There was a huge blood stain in the carpet & a few smaller ones as well. Not to mention, right after i had got done checking in- someone who had just checked in before me came back & expressed how he could not stay there. He told the guy at the front desk that when he walked in, there were tons of roaches. Luckily, i did not see any in my room. I would have 100% asked for a refund & have went somewhere else but i simply did not have the extra money to book another hotel/motel, especially for my 4 night stay. This is a place you go to when you are down on your luck or just one night. I will not come back- such a beautiful location but the rooms are simply terrible.

Check you room, don’t expect it’s been cleaned

We arrived at 2pm and ask if we could pre-check in. We knew that check-in wasn’t till 3pm. We didn’t expect to get into our room, we just wanted to maybe get keys and let them know we were in town, knowing that we probably won’t get back till late. They responded come back after 3pm. I then popped into the office around 6pm on my way to dinner and got the keys and room assignment. We came back around 10-11pm for the night to find our awesome room with an ocean view to be dirty, no sheets on the bed and a log in the toilet. We check back with the front desk and reported the condition of the room and the response was that we should have checked the condition of the room when we checked in. We were then informed that we were lucky and they did have 1 subpar room left that we could stay in and share with the cockroach. When checking out I mentioned our experience to the front desk and her response was “ok”

Lovely night stay!

I enjoyed my stay in this location with my daughter! We only stayed the night for 8 hrs but without any issues. Room was clean enough, bed was comfortable, temperature was just right, water cold and hot works, and no noise. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Would stay here again if I ever have to come down to Oceanside again. Thank you!!
