We had a comfortable day, including the use of the bathroom and other room amenities. The staff was helpful with luggage as well as giving us information we needed. It would have been nice if the hotel breakfast included oatmilk as an alternative to dairy milk. The hotel provided a quiet environment for a good night’s sleep as well.

I chose this hotel for convenience near JFK, but the stay fell below even basic expectations. The room appeared surface-level clean and the bed was comfortable, but there were several issues that shouldn’t be overlooked. The window blinds were broken, which impacted privacy, and more concerning, there was visible mold above the shower in the bathroom, which raises serious cleanliness concerns. Parking is limited to street parking, which happened to be available, but a hotel serving travelers should offer a more reliable option. The continental breakfast was also very minimal—waffles, apples, yogurt, toast, and coffee—with no hot items like eggs, bacon, or sausage, and limited creamer options. The one highlight was the free shuttle to the JFK AirTrain, which is quick and convenient. Overall, I would only stay here again if absolutely necessary. There are clear areas where maintenance and overall standards need improvement.

I reserved my booking through Expedia to stay at Quality Inn on Rockaway Blvd. I scheduled April 16-19 to “pay at the hotel”. I received a few text and email messages about whether time was check in and so on. To my surprise I was alerted by my bank that Quality Inn management took money for the stay from my account and I hadn’t even arrived or checked in at the property as yet. I do not believe my account should have been credited before I arrived or checked in at Quality Inn stated. This practice raise several ethical and legal questions and I will be reporting this property to the better business bureau. I also have other concerns as parking is not free or discounted. Who wants to pay $25 per night for parking. The room that I am currently staying in has a broken a/c heater unit, the refrigerator cannot be opened as it’s on a tray and has to be lifted up. I paid nearly $700 to stay at this property. This is the place I chose yearly when I visit to do my annual physical but no more. I will not be visiting this establishment ever again even though it’s at a convenient location. Choice Hotels don’t address issues. They sweep them under the rug and don’t act.
