Two bedroom, two story unit was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Pricey however was great for a family of five.

I booked this apartment through wotif as everything was booked out and the photos looked decent for this place. When booking online I was given the option to pay on arrival which I chose. I was quite confused when I recieved a call from staff the morning of arrival to say they had tried to charge my card but were unable to as it had in sufficient funds. The staff member was really rude and sounded desperate for my payment. I was travelling quite a distance to get to the apartment that day and explained that I would pay on arrival. I recieved another call from staff just before I arrived in the afternoon again chasing my payment. Not once since I made the booking had they checked in in regards to the booking, only to chase the money. When I entered the room I was confused as I thought I was booking a serviced apartment. To charge over $300 a night, I was completely disappointed with what we were given. The room was tiny and the only service provided was a jug and a fridge that was completely useless. The place didn’t have a microwave or any kind of cooking facilities. The toilet seat was broken, the shower screen was broken, the shower head hardly sprayed water and this wasn’t able to be changed. The TV wouldn’t tune channels properly and it was generally uncomfortable. The linen was itchy and the 3 of us struggled to sleep the 2 nights that we stayed there. The pool had a sign on it to say it wasn’t in order at the moment so we couldn’t even use and access that.

Christie, we were very disappointed to see your review. As we clearly explained to you several times over the phone, we charge for rooms on arrival day in accordance with our online policies. We do this to identify the high volume of fraudulent bookings that we are required to manage on a daily basis. If we don’t do this, we would be losing thousands of dollars in revenue every week and left with vacant rooms in the motel each night which we could have otherwise sold to genuine guests. We realise that you don’t understand this, so we took the time to try and explain it to you. With regards to your comments on the room, as you know, this is entirely untrue, and you have only left this very negative review because you were unhappy with us charging for your room prior to your arrival. You booked a standard king and single room and not a serviced apartment which has cooking facilities compared to our standard rooms. Regarding the price, you have booked on a weekend which is usually a high traffic period of the week and hence prices are more expensive than what they usually would be during the weekdays.”

had a great stay here. neat clean tidy and nice staff close to the heart of nelson bay. not super flash but perfect for the price and for a few nights away

The room was ok air con worked well, a previous guests speedos were left out on the balcony and the shower was terrible barely a dribble out of it.
