Not sure where to start, but here it goes. Upon arrival, we were unable to access the property using the code provided in the email. I eventually reached someone and got the correct code without too much hassle.The surrounding area did not feel safe, especially for a single woman walking alone at night or even during the day. Inside the property, the walls were heavily marked up, there was a strong unpleasant odor, and the upstairs carpets had multiple pet urine and feces stains throughout. There were also ants all over the kitchen.To make matters worse, several windows were unlocked and left open when we arrived late at night, which created an immediate security concern. Thankfully, I checked them myself.When we contacted the host, we received excuses rather than real solutions. A cleaner was sent, but it was only a surface-level cleaning. The carpets clearly had long-standing pet urine damage. The host claimed they were unaware and said no one else had complained, yet the cleaners admitted they had previously informed the host about the issue.VRBO was also unhelpful and rude throughout the process. For the amount paid, I expected a clean, safe, and move-in-ready property. As a maintenance director, I deal with property issues daily, and this experience was completely unacceptable.Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere, even if it costs a little more.The magnet on the fridge said let us know how we did, well here you go! #banthehost
