Poor experience

Despite having written confirmation of our requirements, we found ourselves compromised. The hotel is not in a great location and the service was pretty poor. The quality of the bedding which is usually a differentiator for Sofitel was not up to standard and we had two terrible nights sleep. Overall a poor experience especially for the price point.

The hotel had asked me to pay extra 60€ in order to let me access the room earlier while I was checking in around 12:45pm as the official check in time is 3:00pm. I thought it’s totally insane because it’s a common practice for most hotel to offer flexibility when the room is ready. Especially it’s already in the afternoon. It’s a wipe off and no 5 stars hotel dares to treat its guests like this. Eventually they offered me to access the room immediately if I agreed to become a member of the hotel group. And I made the application to exchange for access. Honestly it’s an insult because I have never be demanded to pay like this. In fact. I had stayed in grand Hyatt Berlin before moving to Munich. Grand Hyatt allowed me to access the room around 12pm. May be Hyatt Group is a better choice.
