Ok stay

Hotel needs lots of updating. Paint carpets and general appearance is poor. Is very clean and cleaners do a ver good job. Sadly was expecting to be able to use the pool but was closed. No mention that it closes after October in the information.

The room was not the one I was booked to have - staff response was that the room I booked was "full" due to the time of year. Hong Kong is overly priced. Basic commodities cost far too much, so I guess the cost of the hotel is acceptable if that is what is normally paid for that level of accommodation. The grounds were not well maintained.

Great location.

Had to buy a drink every time you wanted to use wifi in the cafe. Or pay $100 extra if you wanted it in your room even then you could only use 1 device at a time.

Not close to airport

Pros: The staff were friendly and they communicated well. I felt confident that when they said they would call me a cab that they were actually going to.
Cons: Be honest about your distance to the airport. Offer a shuttle for guests with heavy baggage. Allow internet usage to be split into multiple sessions
Location: It might be very nice but it is far from the airport!
Wotif website says this hotel is 5.65km from airport. I had to get in from Shenzhen then sleep here before an early morning flight so I booked this hotel. As it happened the trip across Hong Kong to get to this hotel took approximately 3 hours because there are 3 different taxi companies. I got in a red cab and was told red cabs can't go to this island, I took 3 trains to get closer and still could not get a cab. I got the shuttle to airport instead thinking it would be easy to get to the hotel. In fact the taxi ride to the hotel from the airport is more than 30 minutes. When I got to the hotel it was after midnight. No food was available except a noodle pack from front desk. The staff were very friendly explaining if I wanted to eat I could talk 15 minutes to a 7/11 and if I want to get to the airport I need to carry my luggage 15 minutes to the bus stop for a 1 hour bus ride, or simply shell out $150 for another taxi. I got given complimentary 2 hour internet but would have to pay if I wanted to log on in the morning. I could use a power adapter but had to pay $20 for it. I got very little sleep, it is so unfortunate that this distance to the airport is misrepresented.

Easy to find fault if you want to but hard to deny that this is a great place/hotel to spend a few days at. Don't miss a visit to Tai O!

Pros: It is right in front of the beach and was quiet at night. Included buffet breakfast was ok and very nice to sit outside beside the beach.
Cons: South wing room's bathroom was very tired looking, although it's a bit cheaper than the new north wing...
Location: Away from it all
Facilities: Should've use sauna room; Value: pay more for Golden week; Service: Good customer service; Cleanliness: Bathroom was smelly; The bbq facility was very close to the hotel and spacy, we brought food from supermarket near the ferry pier and the store next to the bbq area
