This was my 2nd stay at Briarwood Inn and I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Carmel.There were 4 of us in the penthouse for a girls trip. We loved having 2 rooms with big beds as well as 2 bathrooms! Having the living room to hang out in was perfect. We loved having an assigned parking space, so you always know you have a spot. The location is absolutely perfect! So quiet, and walking distance to everything. Cannot recommend Briarwood Inn enough.

We stayed in the cottage. Two of our group were very unsettled by sleeping with windows open, as there are no screens. They come from an urban background, so having such easy access to the interior space was the issue. Keeping windows open was important as there is no air conditioning. Other than that, life there was fine and comfortable.

The Stevenson House is a good choice but needs a new sofa and should provide bar soap instead of the dispensers in the shower. Also the desk agent on Sunday had a definite attitude problem. She was curt and dismissive and not at all welcoming.

No front desk available during lunch break. No option for slightly early check in. No AC room was warm. Parking too tight but convenient. Spacious room and comfortable bed. Good size and clean bathroom. Close to dining and shops.
