Burnt Creek Cottages Mansfield - Mansfield Hotels

Burnt Creek Cottages Mansfield

68 O'Hanlon Rd, Mansfield - Map
"Stunning views to help your soul unwind"
This place exceeded our expectations. We walked in and said "Wow!" Breathtaking views across to the high country, abundant birdlife and at night a million star show from the Milky Way. The cottage is very private, thoughtfully well equipped with everything needed to make our stay comfortable. We thought it would be beautiful in all weathers, with a wood fire as well as reverse cycle air conditioner. We didn't use the swimming pool but would if going in summer. There were plenty of DVDs and games available from reception- and good mobile coverage. We wished we had taken binoculars and bird spotting guides! A lovely friendly welcome from the owners even though we were early. No shops or cafes within walking distance so best to take in what you need or plan to go to Mansfield. A pity we were only staying for the weekend!

    Accommodation In Mansfield

Wot about a holiday with beautiful scenery in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, within easy reach of Victoria's favourite ski destination? Our Mansfield hotels will position you in the heart of nature, giving you the R&R you deserve.

Mansfield acted as a service centre during the Victorian gold rush and some buildings from the 1840s still remain to this day. Another interesting fact is that a few of the local police officers were killed by Ned Kelly during his bushranger days. In the town centre, you can check out the marble monument that was erected in their memory in the year 1880.

    Things to do

Mansfield is the gateway to Mount Buller and Mt Stirling, so make sure you bring your ski gear! If you're here in summer, you can go bushwalking, abseiling, horse riding or biking on the mountains. But shutterbugs will want to get here in spring when the wildflowers bloom with an impressive explosion of colour.

Alpine National Park is Victoria's most expansive national park and is picture-perfect all year round. Another great park to explore is the Lake Eildon National Park, which is home to heaps of native wildlife. Mount Samaria State Park is smaller, but you can go swimming, fishing and boating on nearby Lake Nillahcootie; or just have a picnic on the shore.

For a fun outing, play a round at the local golf club, visit the Mansfield Zoo or take the challenge of the 40 meter by 40 metre High Country Maze.

    Shopping and dining

You can pick up essential items at the local supermarket and enjoy some locally-produced goodies at the Mansfield Farmers' Market on the fourth Saturday of the month.

When you need to refuel, there are plenty of options: sit down for a hearty pub meal, chill out in a relaxing cafe or indulge in a fine alfresco dining experience.

    Getting here and around

Melbourne Airport is the closest airport, about 180km away. So grab one of these cheap flights to Melbourne and then jump aboard a train or bus to Mansfield. Once you arrive, you'll find it easiest to get around town by car, so you might want to hire one at the airport.

Wot are you waiting for? Book your Mansfield accommodation with us now and enjoy your time in this beautiful Victorian town.
