"Close to the snow"
I stayed here for one night with my husband and two year old son. Mansfield is the perfect location if not staying at Mt Buller and is much more affordable.

"Safe and warm"
I wondered how I would feel, travelling to attend a conference in Mansfield, as I'm not used to staying alone in new places. I thought the situation would make me feel vulnerable, especially as the drive up was rainy and dark, so that I had to check in late. As soon as I arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the system for latecomers, the person who came to my aid when I didn't use my door key properly, the fact that there were obviously many other guests staying and the invitation to have a warm breakfast in the morning! The room was basic but clean and comfortable. I felt safe, warm and relaxed even though I hadn't been there before. I loved the breakfast. I'll be bringing my family with me next time I come!

"Close to cafés, pubs, and ski hire"
Close to cafés, pubs, and ski hire and close to buller slopes. Comfy bed. Water pressure in the shower was bad though! All I wanted after a day skiing was a good shower but it was disappointing.

"Affordable and convenient accommodation"
We had a two night stay here as we wanted affordable accommodation at the snow. It took about an hour to drive from our accommodation up to the day car park on Mt Buller. Staying here was a way better option than on-mountain accommodation. The apartment was nice, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for a short stay. The double bed was comfortable as well which was great. Late check in and early check out were no problems - we arrived around 10pm and the heaters had been left on for us so it was great walking into a toasty apartment.

"Well equipped large sized unit"
We had a very comfortable stay and Jemima was most accommodating. The unit is roomy and very well equipped catering well for short or long stays. There's plenty of space on the property and nice and quiet. We would definitely stay here again!

    Pocket Guide: Mansfield

Wot about a holiday with beautiful scenery in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, within easy reach of Victoria's favourite ski destination? Our Mansfield hotels will position you in the heart of nature, giving you the R&R you deserve.

Mansfield acted as a service centre during the Victorian gold rush and some buildings from the 1840s still remain to this day. Another interesting fact is that a few of the local police officers were killed by Ned Kelly during his bushranger days. In the town centre, you can check out the marble monument that was erected in their memory in the year 1880.

    Things to do

Mansfield is the gateway to Mount Buller and Mt Stirling, so make sure you bring your ski gear! If you're here in summer, you can go bushwalking, abseiling, horse riding or biking on the mountains. But shutterbugs will want to get here in spring when the wildflowers bloom with an impressive explosion of colour.

Alpine National Park is Victoria's most expansive national park and is picture-perfect all year round. Another great park to explore is the Lake Eildon National Park, which is home to heaps of native wildlife. Mount Samaria State Park is smaller, but you can go swimming, fishing and boating on nearby Lake Nillahcootie; or just have a picnic on the shore.

For a fun outing, play a round at the local golf club, visit the Mansfield Zoo or take the challenge of the 40 meter by 40 metre High Country Maze.

    Shopping and dining

You can pick up essential items at the local supermarket and enjoy some locally-produced goodies at the Mansfield Farmers' Market on the fourth Saturday of the month.

When you need to refuel, there are plenty of options: sit down for a hearty pub meal, chill out in a relaxing cafe or indulge in a fine alfresco dining experience.

    Getting here and around

Melbourne Airport is the closest airport, about 180km away. So grab one of these cheap flights to Melbourne and then jump aboard a train or bus to Mansfield. Once you arrive, you'll find it easiest to get around town by car, so you might want to hire one at the airport.

Wot are you waiting for? Book your Mansfield accommodation with us now and enjoy your time in this beautiful Victorian town.
