Paradores - accommodation in Madrid

Pros: Room and bathroom looked clean and new, no bad smells. Bed linens and towels looked clean, did not see any stains. Good sink with double faucets. Nice pool at the rooftop and not too crowded. Housekeeping was fast at bringing things to the room when requested, for example towels or toothbrushes. Got upgraded room for free. Reception had good English and overall flexible and accommodating, for example with the check-in process and some surprise. Very good location close to everything. Cons: Water pressure from the shower should be at least 5 times more powerful (10 times more powerful at another hotel in the same city), which was surprising since the pressure from the sink was good enough. High price for the drinks at the pool and lack of hot meal options. Sealed new toilet paper rolls would be better, like at some hotels I have been to. Multiple times didn't get extra towels while being away although the reception had agreed to that. Didn't get later checkout. The cons can easily be addressed, and would be needed for a perfect score in my opinion. Did not try out the breakfast. Overall a good hotel in a very central location.

Great brand new hotel. The bed was very comfortable, and had a great sleep.
