Staff was friendly and helpful. The room itself was okay but carpet needed a good hoover over and the door frame looked like it had been forced open and was hard to lock the door at night. When you had the balcony door open and it was breezy you had this high pitched whistling sound come through the room and exit through the gap in the door frame .

The hotel is in a fantastic location and from the outside, exudes Victorian Seaside Glamour. Inside is sadly a very different situation. The hotel is crying out to be revamped, the decor is tired and old and not reflective of the hotel and its history. Our room was massive, but had very little furniture in and and was poorly laid out. Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I would love to see this hotel get an overhaul, but due to its great location, I don't know that Radisson see many benefits in investing.

Hotel is run down and desperately needs some money spending on it. Stains on the carpets in the room, the shower was worn out, there was a balcony but there was a security cable on the door to stop you going out. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel at all.

Give it a swerve!!!

unfortunately I had a bad stay, the hotel is tired everywhere. the carpets in particular were horrible. and the surrounding area is not a nice place to be, a colleague of mine said that she wouldn't want to walk around on her own. The carpark you have to park in is £25 per night as well. I wont be going back to the hotel or Southend

Dirty, dingy, disgusting dive!

This was a very poor hotel. The 1st room was abysmal. Filthy carpets and the sea view was marred by a dirty window and a balcony that was covered in cigarette butts, bird droppings and used tissues! The 2nd room was a little better but way below what we expect of a hotel with such a grand name. I woukd never stay here again. I wish i took a B&B. So much cleaner. We were disgusted!!!
