We loved staying at the mad hatter hotel, the staff is friendly. The breakfast is amazing and it is great to have a pub in the same property. I would definitely recommend this hote and would love to stay here again.

Great place to stay and explore Southwark.

Stayed here for a 2 night midweek break with a friend. First of all I just want to say how friendly and helpful all the staff were. The man who checked us in was incredibly helpful and gave us some great suggestions of things to do and see. The room was spacious / twin beds which were comfortable and it has been ages since I stayed in a hotel that provided biscuits with the tea and coffee. It may not seem much but it is a lovely touch! We didn’t partake in the pub / restaurant downstairs as we were out and about but it looked great and had a selection of board games. I live in Kent so on my next stay with my husband we will definitely pop in for a drink. The breakfast was good - I had the eggs Benedict and the eggs were cooked perfectly for me. My only criticism is that the English muffin it was served on hadn’t been toasted. My friend had the smashed avocado on toast with poached egg. She can’t eat runny yolks and although she asked for it to be well done it was still a bit runny. She ate around it and enjoyed what she had. I will definitely stay here again. The location is perfect for exploring Southwark and the hotel is a real gem. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Avoid this place at all costs. I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so appalling, I felt obligated to warn others. From the moment we arrived, it was clear we had been misled. The room was sweltering, filthy, and looked absolutely nothing like the photos online. There were already two fans awkwardly shoved into the tiny space: one of them a Dyson, which, which did not blow cold air. After complaining, we were handed a third useless fan, as if crowding an already cramped, boiling room with more plastic was a solution. The bed was small, lumpy, and uncomfortable. There were spider webs clinging to the corners, the bathtub looked like it hadn’t been scrubbed and the walls were literally peeling. It was a health hazard masquerading as accommodation. When we asked to be moved to a cooler room, I was told that all the rooms were in the same condition—as if that somehow made it acceptable. To top it all off, when I contacted Expedia to resolve the issue, they offered absolutely no help whatsoever. This wasn’t just a bad stay—it was a complete scam. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.
