The hotel was very good / the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fine. We would have like a choice of a larger bed and perhaps this is something that could be considered for the future

No air conditioning!

Only complaint is the air conditioning not working. It is out for a year and this was never mentioned when we booked. They gave us a fan but that did very little, even with the window open, in the stifling hot and stuffy room. We had a terrible nights sleep which didn’t set us up well for a busy tourist day.

The staff were excellent but struggling with broken air con, no hot drinks available and lack of stock for bar drinks. They were doing their best but it was clear that they were embarrassed at the lack of goods on offer.

The hotel itself is pretty good and very clean. I am rating it lower because of the service of one employee. The day we arrived the a/c was not working, which was a big deal because it was so hot but Lloyd helped us very much and I get it, things happen. However we went out to eat that evening and brought back some food. There is no fridge in the rooms therefore we could not keep our food in the room. We asked if our food could be put in the fridge downstairs and the employee on duty at the time said no problem. YayWhen we went to get our food the following day the employee we found who seemed to be in a managerial position was not impressed at all and borderline rude. He told us that the hotel policy does not allow them to store food from outside, which I get. But then put a fridge in the room so I don’t have to throw away my food. What if I had medication that is supposed to be stored in a fridge what would I have done? In a nutshell I probably won’t be going back to this hotel, not because it is bad but because I want the option to store my food or drinks for late night snacks. On the positive side, if you don’t need a fridge this hotel is convenient. It is 5 mins walk from train station and bus stops if you are using public transport it is super ideal. the neighborhood is quite nice and not noisy. Most employees were super helpful and friendly except for that one individual. Breakfast was great. Thank you Lloyd, you did an awesome job making us feel welcome.

It would have been nice if anything worked.

When we booked in we were told that there was no working air conditioning in any of the rooms. I had only booked the room the day before and there was no mention of this. The front desk apologised and said we should have been informed. Fans were provided but did little to cool the rooms which were very hot from the lovely summer weather in London. As it was late when we booked in we had no alternative but to take the rooms. Getting to and from our rooms was also difficult as one of the two lifts was broken (again no mention of this when booking), so there were long wait times to be able to actually get in the lift, and the suggestion written on the doors to use the stairs was more than a little annoying as we were on the fifth floor!

The air con did not work and we weren’t informed of this until we checked in. The reception clerk said he would find us a room with AC but didn’t. A night clerk gave us a discounted rate and gave us a fan. It’s was 75 at night and 90 in the daytime. Breakfast was good and it’s close to two pubs on the river, but little else.
