After two nights at the hotel, I went to the reception to find that they hadn't changed towels for three of the four rooms I booked, and the guy at the reception came to check. He collected them and took them away, then said he didn't have any other clean ones and if we wanted them, he would return the dirty ones from the storage room where he had thrown them with all the other hotel towels.

The reception staff (Liz and Marianne) were very welcoming. Spotless throughout the hotel. Room spacious and very clean. Everything one needs for a stay. Shower nice and warm and strong. The housekeeping even though it’s not daily, they do come and check if you need anything. Free coffees and water on first floor 24/7. The hotel is smack bang in the city centre with every kind of shop on your doorstep. Secure entrance for late nights out. The Lime Street rail station just minutes away. Plenty of taxis around. City is mostly walkable. Definitely will return to Citadines Liverpool again.

Stayed here last year and returning for this festive period was a no-brainier. Booking and check in is easy, staff are friendly, and rooms are clean and spacious. Location is about as central as it gets - easy to walk around the city centre and enjoy Liverpool’s offerings. The city is my home, so these trips are less about sightseeing and more about time with family, but a few places we like and would recommend: Mother Espresso, Bean and Coffi for coffee The Philharmonic for a performance Moiim for homely Korean food Wander for locally curated gifts Derek’s for great sandwiches London Carriage Works for festive afternoon tea Man Tsuen Ho’s for Chinese food Slowpour and Le Petit Cafe du Coin for drinks
