I don’t even know where to start other than DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY! The pictures featuring the home are nothing close to what you will actually be staying in. First, the home was very dirty with an awful smell! It appeared that the homeowner moved out of the home for the 2 weeks we stayed there. Upon entering the home, the floors and kitchen were very dirty! There was water in the basement from a bathtub leak that was suppose to be taken care of after the first day by a plumber, but after 2 weeks the leak was still there. The bathroom sink was plugged and the plumber had to take care of that for us. The dining room light is hanging by exposed electrical wires which I asked to be addressed and the request was ignored. The smoke alarms do not work, and in fact one was sitting in a flower pot outside the entry door. The fire extinguisher is beyond expired and working condition. The lawn has not been mowed or kept up making the backyard area of no use during our stay. The listing says the garage is available for parking but it was locked with no way of getting in. The host was terrible at responding and communication. There were zero instructions given for check-out. There are much better places to stay in EL including numerous hotels. Be watchful of any properties in the EL area hosted by Dean.

No Heat and No Communication

Family of five drove in from Alabama to handle the estate of a loved one who passed away. Upon arrival we could not get the heat on in the house, we tried for several hours before we went and bought additional blankets. Temperature upstairs was in the 50s and the downstairs never rose above 62. All of the downstairs beds lacked blankets. All of the beds were memory foam mattress, like bought online and shipped to the house. We tried to contact the host for 24 hours before we finally left and got hotel rooms for the remainder of the stay in Lansing. We contacted VRBO staff several times as well, never could get any reply until after we left. As of today, a week later, we have only received one message. We have asked for a refund, and surprise, the host has stopped responding to messages. We had to dispute the charge on our credit card. House was clean, but was not as advertised. No heat. No blankets for beds. Terrible communication with host. Would not rent from this host again.
