We stay here every couple of years. The owners invest back into the property and are actively refreshing all the cabooses and farmhouse, inside and out. A great, unique place to stay for train lovers!

I, and my friends, enjoyed the concept/idea of the cabooses. This time, however, the caboose I had seemed to be run down and not as nice as in the past....I had also inquired two times during my stay if I could SEE some of the the other cabooses so I could choose the one I liked best for my next stay but was told (both times) that that is not possible. I would be given what was available....I would rather "KNOW" which one I was actually getting before securing a caboose. :(

Listen, and I don’t wanna tear the place apart. If you’re really into trains, this might be the experience of a lifetime. I stayed there for work because it was inexpensive. I like staying in places that are different. But I would not stay here again. The sheets and linens were clean I guess. The carpet was not. The walls were not. The ceiling in the bathroom was not. Also, my train car was crooked so the whole time I thought I was going to roll out of the bed. It was literally crooked to the point where the toilet seat would not stay up by itself without holding it. The staff, however, were extremely friendly and very gracious.

We stayed here for our daughter’s softball tournament. The caboose car rooms were a unique experience. The staff was friendly and knowledgable about the property and surrounding area. There was a restaurant. Horse/Buggy ride and animals to pet/feed on the property. The Strasburg Train Museum and train ride were conveniently close. The borough of Strasburg is quaint with beer/food options. We would recommend staying here for your Lancaster County stays!
