Macdonald Hotels - accommodation in Lanark

The hotel was clean, modern and a great stay overall. We enjoyed the pool and sauna, however the pool area felt quite small considering the amount of families there during the easter holidays. We dined in the restaurant and had lovely food and decided to add on breakfast for the next morning, but it ended up being very busy for breakfast that it was not enjoyable and quite chaotic. The TV set up in the room was great, massive tv, with your normal tv channels as well as netflix and a cast option which is unusual in most hotels, allowing us more options to watch! Great location next to the zoo as that was why we were visiting Edinburgh.

We booked our room months in advance and upon checkin we’re not notified that active construction would affect our reservation. We had construction workers on scaffolding directly outside our windows. Disruptive and very disappointing. The bathroom had mildew and water damage on the ceiling as well which was a bit concerning. Good breakfast, nice pool, central location are the saving graces.

we had breakfast on Sunday morning & it was delicious! Richard was especially friendly, courteous & proud to be a staff member. All staff were very attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here. Lovely bar for an evening cocktail. great location in city center. thank you for making our stay so comfortable. my partner enjoyed your workout room each morning, as well as the sauna!
