Hotel was understaffed, especially regarding check-in which was a slow process (30 minute wait) with only 2 of the 5 spots at the front desk occupied. There seemed to be only one baggage cart available for the entire 17 floor hotel and to use that you had to order for service. For a place that advertises to be family friendly you would think there would be some plan in place so families don’t have to make 3 trips back and forth from the parking garage to their room, which is quite a hike. Most of the place is saturated with the residual smell of old cigarettes and the rooms are short on amenities. The food at Cafe De Soul was good and reasonably priced. We had dinner and breakfast.

The room was clean, but furniture and curtains were so outdated and gave a depressing feel. For $200+ per night, it was beyond disappointing. Front desk staff was very nice.

Bathroom door was broken . The hallway had garbage that was left for days .The parking lot looked like a garbage dump.The front desk staff was rude . There were more issues but it’s not worth my time to write them all . I would never recommend this hotel.

Overall it was a good stay. The first room we got, the heater was not working. It was cold. The hotel staff were quick to respond and when they couldn't fix the heater (problem with a valve), the moved us to a lake view room, which was very nice. The amenities were excellent. There was plenty to do. The only thing that kept this from being a 5 star review is that the pool was closed for two of the two and a half days we were there. We regret (or maybe not) not going to the pool when we arrived, but we were there for fun in the snow, not to lounge at the pool. The restaurant Cafe Del Soul was really good. The food was great and the wait staff was friendly and fast. Bally's is close to everything you want to do in Tahoe. We walked to stores, the skating rink near Heavenly, and a tubing park about a block and a half away. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it.
