Accommodation In Lake Como\n

How would you like to wake up next to a massive shimmering lake surrounded by green hills and snow-capped mountains? Lake Como is located at the foot of the Italian Alps, and it’s the third largest lake in Italy as well as one of Europe’s most spectacular. It’s surrounded by delightful villages filled with centuries old buildings and great restaurants, and the area itself is an excellent choice if you love a good mountain hike. Lake Como is beautiful enough for celebrities like George Clooney to buy homes here, so treat yourself with some of our Lake Como accommodation.

History

Lake Como (also known as Lake Lario) is shaped like an upside-down Y simple and is 146 square kms in size. It’s been a popular spot with the wealthy for centuries, and the Romans were the first to build villas there.

Things to do

Take a ferry ride and visit some of Lake Como’s towns, like Bellagio, with its old buildings and cobblestone alleyways, and Como city, with its cathedrals, curious museums and unique monuments. To take a dip, visit Lido Di Lenno Beach for a sandy lakeside strip complete with a bar and restaurant PLUS music and dancing in the evenings.

Love hiking? You can go it solo or hire a guide to help you navigate all kinds of trails, from the snowy, surreal summit of Monte Legnone to the mountain scenery of Val Cavargna, a peaceful green valley.

Shopping and dining

There’s some great shopping in the Como area: boutiques, designer fashion and shopping malls like Foxtown, which is across the border in Switzerland and filled with designer outlets. Lake Como has a fine bunch of restaurants offering traditional Italian food and, often, fantastic views of the lake.

Getting here and around

Book one of our flights to Milan to get started. From Milan, you can take a rental car or train to Lake Como. You can walk around the Como city centre or get around the whole area on buses. Ready to go? Book your Lake Como hotel with us and live like a star among the beauty of nature.
