The property and area is fine but the front staff/ attendants are not very nice almost seems to be discriminating. When you go ask the front desk staffs for help or service, they don’t take an effort to help you, just replies quickly to get rid of you.

Hotel Monterey is very close to a train station which made it super convenient as my family of four each had a carry bag plus backpack. Train station is only a couple minutes away. Hotel has a great mineral pool and sauna for guests to use that I was not aware of, so it was a really nice surprise. Kyoto was our favorite town on our trip. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. The detox water was very nice in the afternoons and you also get a free adult beverage in the spa lounge between 3-6pm. Stay here and enjoy!!

The location is great. Close to train stations, museums, shopping and great restaurants. Loved the hot spring overlooking the city. Just wish it would stay open later than 11pm. Wonderful hotel. Would love to stay again.
