Peacefully situated by the banks of the River Kent, overlooking the beautiful Lake District countryside. River View Cottage is detached and set in a small gathering of similar cottages, close to the award-winning and prestigious ’Cowan Head’. This traditional, 18th-century cottage enjoys a wealth of character complete with exposed beams. The living room is cosy, with deep recessed windows, cushioned furniture and a beamed ceiling. Just 10 minutes from Windermere the cottage nestles at the foot of the Kentmere Valley, where many excellent walks can be explored straight from your doorstep.

Riverview cottage, Cowan Head

Beautiful comfortable cottage with everything we needed, superb views especially early morning, close to river and walk to Staveley along river to coffee shop, wonderfull short stay to visit family in nearby Kendal.
Stayed 4 nights in Oct 2024
