Nice, clean, well-maintained property in the Wailua area, Plantation Hale Suites is located near Kapa'a and about 15-20 min from the airport. There are a number of restaurants and food places nearby, and the Suites are a five-minute walk to the beach. The Suites have pools, BBQ areas, and laundry facilities. The only "bad" thing about my stay is that the suite was not ready at the check-in time of 4:00pm; otherwise, I liked this property and would most likely stay there again.

Check in was good and early. The personnel at the front desk was professional and helpful. The facility charges a resort fee which isn’t warranted. There are few amenities to enjoy. The room is outdated with a loud in window air conditioning unit. It feels more like a roadside hotel than resort.

We loved the location, walking distance to stores and restaurants, around 15min drive to the airport. We felt the Suites are run-down and in desperate need of a refresher. Furniture in ours was old, carpets stained and generally musty and smelly… I felt the quality/price was not appropriate

This was our second stay with Plantation Hale and were met again with a friendly and helpful staff, a clean room, well maintained facilities, and a convenient and walkable area. Plantation Hale is a great home base for your stay in Kauai!

I wouldn’t say the stay was terrible. We had fun swimming in the pool and using the hot tub. The facility is worn down and had a little bit of a musty smell, and we had a cockroach in the bathroom. People at front desk were kinda nice.

The property was built in 1970. Unfortunately, the popcorn ceiling was snowing on us in the main living room. Concern that the ceiling contains asbestos. The room was in need refurbishing. Lighting in kitchen was poor. No luxury accommodation here.

The bathroom was dirty and had mold. I reserved a king bed with pull out couch and they did have any available so I got a room with two full size beds and a couch that did not pull out. The location was great though.

It is a much older property than I anticipated for a VIP hotel. However, the biggest problem we had is that at no time during check-in or during our 4-day stay, where we informed that the water to our entire building was going to be shut off from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the Friday and then again on the Monday. I was in mid-shower when it shut off at one point and the maintenance men brought me a bucket of water to use to rinse off. We sort of forgave the water being turned off on Friday during the day as we were out most of the day exploring the island, but I am super disappointed to report that on Sunday evening we called and asked for a late checkout on Monday and nobody mentioned that the water would be turned off again on Monday. Why would we want to add time to prepare for our flight home in a room where there's no way to take a shower or flush the toilet? I tried talking to the property about this issue and they simply informed me that I would have been informed during check-in and they would not offer me any sort of refund for the inconvenience.
