We had a warm welcome and the reception staff were very friendly and efficient . The didn’t mention the loyalty to join to get 10% off food and drink it was only I noticed it on the wall. Car park gets very busy but they helped us get parked when we couldn’t find a space. The room was ok and was meant to be delux room. It was a pleasant room but I wouldn’t describe it as delux. It was nice having air con. The shower head didn’t attach properly to the rod. Bed was comfortable . We ate in the bar and the food was very tasty. Didn’t have breakfast there. Well located for the town which was lively and close to the cathedral and castle. Plenty of places to eat. Town is up a hill but not too steep. It is also only about we minutes from beamish

Lovely, older but very dignified hotel. Wonderful food in restaurant and excellent service. Handy for walking up the hill to the Cathedral and for walking to other areas like the main square and shops. I loved it. Very comfortable room and nice big bathroom. Definitely recommended.

Perfect spot

We chose the hotel at random, knowing it was central and had on site parking. In fact it was the perfect choice for exploring the city. Close to all the historic sites, and easy walking to restaurants and pubs. The staff were very friendly and efficient - which made the stay even better.

We arrived and went straight to bed as it was late when we got there. Bed comfortable but surprised no face cloths in the bathroom . Shower excellent and breakfast really tasty and with plenty of choice. Left luggage in house while we visited the Durham uni.Easy to walk to the Uni business centre. A good choice.

The staff were unfriendly and the bed was terrible. We were able to get a mattress topper to make the bed bearable. The windows did not open and controlling the room temperature was extremely difficult.

We had a wonderful stay Delta Hotels Durham Royal County. The hotel's location in Durham oldtown could not be better; it's close to everything. The hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff are extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with plenty of choices. They even will make your eggs to order. Breakfast hours suit all guests (0630 - 1030) and checkout isn't until 1200. Definitely would recommend!

Room and bathroom were both clean. Sat in garden with a drink which was nice. Had gluten free breakfast they made me 2 poached eggs then i put bacon beans mushrooms and tomato with it.they also made me 2 gluten free toast and gave me 2 gluten free cereal pkts schar cornflakes and schar muesli.i also had pineapple and watermelon chunks with a bit yoghurt. So got well fed which is a change when you need a gluten free breakfast. Most places you wont get cereal or toast.also have choice of coffees out of machine and fresh juices.
