This was our second visit, and it didn’t fail to impress. On this occasion we stayed over Christmas, and the hotel was decorated fabulously. We had a castle feature room which was lovely. We also ate in the restaurant for dinner, which again was excellent. Breakfast was also very good. The staff were all polite and professional, always chatty with a smile on their faces! Would definitely recommend.

Gorgeous place, naturally quirky and blends comfort with the old features brilliantly. I had a single room which was perfect for a solo get away. Bar service and atmosphere was excellent. Efficient check in and out.

This was our second visit to Lumley Castle. Our room was very spacious with a very comfortable super-king bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast this time, the continental part was very good but the full english was a bit disappointing unfortunately, we would have the waffles next time as they looked amazing. Will definitely stay again.

At first the room felt quaint, followed by quirky. But it quickly becomes queer. Wallpaper was falling off the wall, furniture was dirty and it wasn't possible to access the double bed from both sides. Certainly not a good room for anyone who is tall as it's set in the eaves.

A beautiful location, staying within an actual castle grounds. The breakfast was amazing and catered for myself and my partner who is vegetarian. All members of staff were really friendly including the cat that greeted me as I went for breakfast. The only negative was how loud the room above was throughout the 2 night stay, but we still slept well and had a great time.
