Amazing Stay... Restaurant server not so much...

Hotel Stay was amazing. We stay often and eat at the restaurants often. Always superb service. However, our brunch at the Laurel on Mar 16, our server (Carie?) definitely needed more training. She visibly rolled her eyes from her position leaning against the wall near the entrance to the kitchen (not realizing I could see her) when she saw we were seated in her station, and then walked away into the kitchen. We had requested a specific table, to which the hostess graciously accommodated. We waited 12 minutes to finally be greeted by her for the first time. When she removed the extra place settings, she shoved her fingers into the glasses to pick them up, and placed them back on the shelf for future use. She forgot our cappuccino order, and we needed to remind her we were waiting on it. She replied, "oh, I knew I was forgetting something..." We were not checked on after we received our meal (delivered by a gracious and professional server). All other service was amazing. However, our server stuck out from the norm and was not Grand America quality.

This hotel is beautiful and at a great location for walking to several attractions. The food at Laurel was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our only main complaint was waking up on Monday morning to a loud fire drill which forced us from bed and down 17 flights of stairs. Not relaxing at all. And as it turns out, everything was fine, and no explanation for the drill.

Beautiful stay in Salt Lake City

It's such a beautiful place to stay even when we go skiing up in the mountains. There are some great small boutiques in the lobby, and the restaurant and bar are great to hang out for a peaceful time. There are a lot of choices of restaurants around as well.
