Seasonal Lake Conditions & Water Safety

Lake Erie is a natural body of water, and conditions can change throughout the year. Please keep the following in mind:

- Algae blooms: Algae blooms can occasionally occur in Lake Erie during warmer months and may temporarily affect swimming or create unpleasant outdoor smells. Their occurrence and duration vary from year to year.
- Shoreline: The lakebed is a natural mix of sand and rock, and conditions vary with weather and water levels. Water shoes are strongly recommended.
- Seasonal water access: Access from the LakeHouse to the water is via a temporary ramp, available from mid-May to mid-October. The ramp is removed for the off-season. It can be steep and slippery when wet, so please use caution.
- Water activities: Use of the lake, SUP boards, and kayak is at your own risk. Children must be supervised around the water at all times.
- Safety equipment: Life jackets and water shoes are provided, but guests may prefer to bring their own for proper fit and comfort.

A Few Helpful Notes
- The home uses a cistern and septic system — please use water mindfully.
- As with any lakefront stay, insects may be present indoors and outdoors.
- Please follow the simple hot tub care guidelines provided.

Pets
We welcome one well-behaved dog. Please clean up after your pet, keep them off furniture, and keep them on our property.

Property Safety
The property is not fenced on the road side, so children and pets should be supervised at all times.
