This hotel had some charm . When we got there late , the front desk gave us a nicer room with a better view . I loved the exposed brick in the room . It has everything you need. Fridge , stove , microwave.. the room was mostly clean. There was some pink mold in the shower . The breakfast was cold , but I was happy they had overnight oats with oak milk and that oat milk was provided for cereal .. but had the same breakfast every day . Eggs and potatoes were cold . Was surprised there was no waffle iron or pancakes .. we stayed here mainly because it was Hilton and it was 3 min walking distance to the DeVos center where we were seeing a show. Everything is in walking distance. I didn’t know there would be a $38 parking fee every day … the bed wasn’t the comfiest but I have yet to experience that in my lifetime at a hotel . I love the welcome bag .. we got two waters and a chocolate bar that was really good . The floors are squeaky in the hallways but that I guess goes with the old charm . All in all we’d stay again .

Great family friendly downtown option

We only had one night in Grand Rapids but our stay at Homewood made us wish we planned for longer. Check in was great, Prentiss was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The pool area was also very clean and saltwater pool was comfortably warm. Breakfast had great options- breakfast burritos, overnight oats and chia pudding were standouts that made this better that typical free breakfast. The building retained some of the historic details like exposed brick and hardwood floors, but everything felt modern and clean. We’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Also downtown Grand Rapids seems plagued with loud noisy cars late at night. This isn't the hotel's problem. I'm sure the other hotels have the same problem.

The complimentary breakfast was mentioned but the compimentery beer and wine on the roof and soup and salad in the breakfast area was an unexpected delight. After beeing on the road most of the day it was nice not to have to go out.

Love love love!

Amazing staff. All so kind and informative. Bed was extremely comfortable. Room AC was perfect over the extreme heat this past weekend. The ceiling fan was clutch!!! Great to have full size fridge, microwave and dishwasher as well as dishes if needed. Great location for downtown, as you are within walking distance of tons of shops, restaurants and bars.

Relaxing get away

Room was spacious and comfortable. I really enjoyed the breakfast! Fresh and hot with different options each day. Front desk , Anwar, was a great host and very friendly. Thanks for a great stay.

I was most impressed with the parking situation. I was concerned before arriving that parking and loading and unloading over 300# of luggage and gear would be a problem, but that was not the case at all. The area reserved for use in the parking ramp was on the same level as our room, so rolling our cart from the car to the room every day was quite a simple chore. Other than that, the room was clean, comfortable, roomy, and well furnished. And the staff was friendly and very helpful.

The staff was great, and we loved the location. We walked to several businesses. The room was awesome. The Sundance Grill was also great so you don't even need to leave the building to get good food.
