We arrived at 5:00pm to check in, check in starts at 4:00pm. We were informed that there were no clean rooms and we would be the next on the list. After waiting 45 minutes in a packed lobby, we went back up to the front desk to ask how long it would be as we had dinner reservations upcoming. A different employee helped us, and told us we were actually 5th on the list but he would be able to get us into a room right then and there. We got to the room and were getting ready for dinner when a different couple opened the door to our room. The front desk did not block off the room as occupied and double booked it. We were offered no resolution from having no room upon arrival and having someone come in on our room.

We stayed here for an overnight concert event at Van Andel. The skywalk connects the hotel to the concert venue which is a great convenience. The hotel resort is huge and beautifully decorated. Plenty of dinner options but I highly recommend making reservations especially on a weekend. MDRD restaurant is on the 27th floor with beautiful views of the city. The staff is friendly and helpful! Our room was very spacious and quiet. Cons: No closet space for hanging clothes in a standard double queen room. Hot water could be hotter. Parking is very pricey.
