For all the conveniences of the location, there are several inconveniences that cause me to pause. The layout of this hotel is awkward. You drive in on the ground floor and park street side. Once inside, you have to take the elevator one floor up to the lobby level. From there, you get your room key and have to go back down to get your car and park in additional-$30,night parking across the street. Once back in the cold, you haul your bags across the covered walkway back inside the hotel, and take the elevator up to your room. This hotel is pet friendly, which is great for pet owners. We were unlucky and had a dog barking throughout the day in the room next door all day long. When I called the front desk to check on the disturbing animal to see if it was okay, they offered to move our room, but who wants to pack everything back up and then move again. I am unsure why they wouldn't place the pet people on the same floor. The room had an end table with something stuck on it that couldn't be removed with soap and water; we tried. The same level that you walk in through to get to the elevator was often ocupied in the evening by a college student or homeless person with phone/computer plugged in and coat on floor near them. It was bizarre to say the least. There is a pool, but you have to walk past the lobby to get to it. Bring a cover up. There is no hot tub. Surprising for a newer remodel and the price. I've paid less for a better stay in GR. Disappointed.

This trip was horrible! I am never staying here again. It is a pet friendly hotel but there is no where to take your pet outside to potty. I had to have my brother babysit my sevice dog for the weekend. Plus, parking is an issue. Parking is an extra 30.00/ day which i was not informed about until i arrived. There is no Parking at the hotel you have to walk a block away ( not ideal). Plus, i was there for business and needed sleep unfortunately this hotel is right in the middle of the bar district. Bad experience 😪

Location downtown was great! Parked once (even though they do allow in and out privileges) then walked to DeVos Place for golf show, dinner out, drinks out and hockey game at Van Andel arena. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Included breakfast was just okay.
