I’ve done quite a lot of hotel stays here in Grand Rapids over the past 18 months. My stay at Sonesta ranks at the top. The customer service and security of the hotel was comforting. The rooms were very clean and neat. The shower had actual water pressure, something none of the other hotels seem to have which I appreciated more than anything. I would recommend this hotel for anyone and especially for any family looking for a comfortable and friendly stay with a safe and clean environment surrounded with excellent shopping and food choices.

I have nothing bad or disappointing to say about the Sonesta Hotel. Given the quality of the room, I would have expected to pay a much higher rate. Excellent place to stay. This is now my goto place when I'm back in town.

Bed was comfortable. Linens were clean. There was a hair in the shower on the stall wall. Key cards did not work well. Had to have new cards. Air conditioning unit was pretty loud.

Check in went great. We had the 2 Queen Kitchenette Suite. Highly recommend this room for families. They rooms are a bit older and and it definitely shows. Our pull out couch bed was dirty when we pulled it out and we had no bedding for it. We tried calling to the front desk and our phone didn't work. We went down to the pool and that was the highlight. Temperature was good and love that they have a section that is 1 foot deep that is great for kids. We went to the front desk and asked for a full set of bedding for the pull out in our room. Housekeeping came with only a fitted sheet and a sheet that was to small for the bed. We asked for pillows and that took forever and she had an attitude. We didn't even bother asking for the thicker blanket we just split the bedding. The pool was closed our second day and that was out their hands but definitely frustrating. However they got it up and running in the evening so we did get to play.

Its a older hotel possibly in transition of new owners idk. Pool was cold, hotub was not warm at all. Water from a faucet is warmer then both. Overall room was spacious and enjoyed that. Couch cushion had stains, food under hidabed. Would probably stay again if only for a day or two.
