This was claimed as a 4 star hotel when it was not the quality of this at all. We arrived at approx 11am on the 17th and enquired about the free upgrade and were met with a sharp response from the receptionist that they were full. Also the free spa service was actually a 2 hour free access to the facilities, not quite a service. We went to lunch and could see the bread was out, likely from breakfast, and some was stale already (this was confirmed from our following day there that the same bread was left out exposed all day and very stale by the time it came to dinner). We were advised our room would be ready at 2pm, we returned at 2pm and were told it would be a further half hour. Whilst awaiting I could see the fish pond area was very dirty, the furniture appeared worn and dated. The junior suite we had been assigned had an exposed fuse box, towel rails that fell off and dirty spoons and mugs. Food was not always fresh and barely warm, the quality being poor overall. Sun beds were torn and dirty and no towels were available when we initially went to the pool despite being given a towel card, we had to wait 50minutes. The gym had rusty equipment and was clearly not attended to hourly to be cleaned despite the sheet in the room claiming to be signed as proof of cleaning. On a positive note the other staff we met were friendly and attentive, we had a Mountain View as requested.
