Disappointing Stay – Doesn’t Match Website Expecta

I recently stayed at Glenwood Springs Cedar Lodge and, unfortunately, my experience fell significantly short of what was advertised. While the room was clean upon arrival, several issues made the stay less than comfortable. The bathroom floor had multiple broken and loose tiles, which not only looked neglected but also posed a safety concern. One of the major reasons I chose this property was for the relaxing riverside setting pictured on the website. However, there was no river—or even a riverbed grass area—to unwind near. This was incredibly disappointing, as it was a big part of the appeal when booking. The towels and bed linens were clean but visibly dingy and worn, which contributed to an overall lackluster feel. At checkout, when I asked to speak with a manager about my concerns, the front desk staff was unable to provide the manager’s name or contact information, which only added to the frustration. Glenwood Springs is a beautiful destination, but I would not recommend this lodge unless significant improvements are made—particularly in delivering on the experience promised online.

The room and grounds were very clean, and it was a very family-friendly place to stay. It felt safe and we were able to walk to dinner, downtown Glenwood Springs, and the trail along the river. We look forward to staying again!

We really enjoyed our stay at this little hotel. The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and quiet and it was nice they had breakfast in the morning although their coffee was a little weak. This wasn't a big deal because there was a Starbuck's across the street. The views from this hotel are insane. It was also nice they had a room for our electric bikes and ran an extension cord to the room for us to plug into. We still needed to bring locks for them. Overall I highly recommend this quaint little hotel.
