Close to Merchant City

Pros: It was close to the City centre where we wanted to be and was large enough to host friends and relatives at a party.
Cons: An accurate flat numbering system would be useful, as would the advice about the pub literally 10 meters across the street.
Location: Plenty of pubs, restaurants, etc. just around the corner. A vibrant part of the City.
A wiser man than me once said "You only have one chance to make a good first impression". A broken lock on the entrance to the complex wasn't a great start - took us 5 minutes before we could get in. Once inside, our room number was designated to start with the number 0, but we couldn't find a zero anywhere. Turns out that 0 and G are the same thing in Glasgow, which is less than useful for someone who lives in Melbourne. Fortunately, I speak English - how could a non-English speaker possibly negotiate this? The shower cover was broken, and there was an uplifted tile in the bathroom floor. Our room was also opposite a busy pub, and we arrived from Australia on a Saturday night straight after Celtic played, so it was pretty noisy. Staff were good in handing over the keys to my brother who stays in Glasgow ahead of our arrival on the Saturday, which was really useful after a 24 hour flight.
