This was our second time staying at the Ameristar. We usually stay at the Grand Z because of the price, however the Ameristar was less expensive than the Grand Z. We like the rooms better at Ameristar, and the location of course. So anyways as we were waiting to be checked in, the staff said “VIP next”. And I looked around and next thing I noticed was a woman coming from my left to the counter. I was like “excuse me” I was next. This setup of VIP’s coming out of no where is unacceptable. I understand you have a club or privileged customers, but the check-in process NEEDS TO BE CHANGED!! Setup ropes like at the airport, First Class and other passengers. And frankly the VIP’s were embarrassed because they knew we were there first and not them. So it made them uncomfortable and the other people waiting in line to be checked in. This is why I gave 3 stars for staff. They were even rude about the whole situation too.

Everything was great here. The room was very spacious and clean. Easy early check in was easy. Rooftop patio is very nice. Our only complaint was the terrible service at Breakfast in The Fireside Grill.

Mostly nice, upscale property. My room was in need of some fixes, the bed headboard was badly scratched. Several of the elevators refused to display the correct floor. Other than those things, the rest of the property was pretty good. Beautiful top floor pool area! Very good restaurants.

Rooftop pool was unique but crowded. Lamps in rooms had broken on and off switches. We had to unplug to turn off the lights. Loved soap and shampoo but toilet paper could have been better. Just enough coffee for one day and no maid service until checkout.
