The Ameristar Black Hawk is a great place to stay whether you plan to gamble or not. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are clean and staff is friendly. Not sure how they were able to build it in the middle of the mountains. Large parking garage connected to the hotel and multiple restaurants onsite. We stayed one night on our way from Idaho Springs to Estes Park.

The shower in our room was full of mole all over. On the walls, on the ledge, down on the ground. Looks like the shower had not been cleaned in awhile if mold was growing. The elevators need some work. We waited 25 minutes for an elevator to pick us up and take us downstairs before we decided to take the stairs. 12 floors later the lady at the front desk was extremely rude and no compassion or empathy for the elevators not working.
