The Bloc is an innovative hotel for short stay at Gatwick airport. It's conveniently located attached to the airport with easy access to the Gatwick Express train. The restaurants in the airport pre-security area are a short walk from the room. The innovative check-in, access, and controls from cellphone make it very convenient.

Stay before flight. Ok once you get your head around the lack of space. Really hard to regulate temperature in the room and the noise of the air con makes it feel Like you’re sleeping on the runway. Bed and pillows uncomfortable. On the plus side you are right by security. Perhaps I’d pay a bit more for a hotel experience next time ?

Ideal location at the South Terminal. We arrived late and we had an early flight the next day. Staff were helpful and checked us in very quickly. Room was very tidy with everything you need for an overnight stay.

Very good option for stopover at Gatwick Airport. The check in was rapid and the interaction with the person at reception was pleasant. The room was nicely finished and ergonomically efficient. I went for the windowless option which might not suit everyone, but I checked in late and checked out early so made no difference. I got a good rate for the night. Oh yes, the room was spotless, bed comfortable and plenty of good quality towels provided.

Check that "room only" is all you need.

The main advantage of this hotel is it's location. It's actually inside the South Terminal at Gatwick and very close to the train station for connections into London etc. However please be aware that it's not a normal hotel as it has NO facilities and relies on the shops and cafes in the South terminal to provide these. If all you want is a room to sleep then it's fine, otherwise go somewhere else.

Friendly staff. After arriving at gatwick airport by train, we walked out of the train station and followed signs to hotel. It is right at the airport, unlike Heathrow. Took the hassle out of locating accommodation, on our airport trip.
