Hotels on the Lake in Franz Josef Glacier

For a one night stay travelling through New Zealand and needing to break up the journey at certain points this was fine. It’s pretty much a box with private bathroom, bed, Kitchenette. Everything was clean. Your parking space is literally right up against the sliding glass windows to your room so your view is your vehicle. The bed was good enough but a bit old school springs. Great for one night but I wouldn’t want to spend any more than that. Check in was great, helpful and cheerful and gave me a free bottle of milk for tea/coffee. All the staff on the property were friendly and helpful. The town is catering to tourists so it’s loads of day excursion places, tours, chalet style places, a few restaurants. Catering mainly to hikers etc so no frills. It’s obviously all about using town as a base for the incredible scenery.

Very clean well laid out room with well equipped kitchen and nice bath/shower room. Friendly staff, laundry on site and easy parking

Great room 611 , so had a great view facing towards Glacier Alps , any room around this number where have same view so would suggest asking for any of these rooms , close to restraurants , offstreet parking , great value , didnt do breakfast but am sure it was great also.
