The staff was very helpful at check in by offering an upgraded room at a nominal charge. The bed and linens were excellent. This led to a great nights sleep. Very nice bath and everything was very clean. I would not hesitate to book this hotel again.

Having been much delayed prior to our arrival, we were warmly received by the gentleman on Reception, who explained that we'd be getting a complimentary upgrade, on account of our original room already being let. This was most welcome, as were the two magnificent Club Sandwiches we had delivered to our room. They necessitated the use of the gym in the morning, which I found to be well-equipped without being cluttered, and the equipment clean, modern and in good repair. Excellent breakfast buffet: staff charming. Consierge service most obliging in arranging transport to airport. My only niggle was the bathroom: decor and fittings were a little tired, and at one point, we were concerned that we couldn't get the shower to switch off at all 😬 But that said, this has become our new favourite Southampton stopover, and we'll definitely be back 👍

I didn’t feel the property was worthy of the price paid for a stay here. Our room never got Cleaned or Made up the two nights we stayed there. Our toilet ran and when we Asked the cleaner in the hallway, she seemed unconcerned with this. My hubby had to keep taking the back off toilet to flush properly. The sheets and mattress protector did not fit the bed and so the. Ed was half made while we Slept. For 600 plus a night to stay I would have expected a bit more.

My stay was only one night. When booking the picture portrayed the hotel having lots of boats etc and near water. There was none! The staff was very helpful and friendly. There was a wedding and tge vibrations from the music and pontoon the floor above us kept us from having a the quietness needed for a good sleep. Surroundings around the hotel were safe and we enjoyed a long walk snd a bite to eat at “ The Pig”😃 ( near by) of which was very good

Unable to change the air con / heating controls for “security reasons”… After a lacklustre check-in, we walked into our suite and into a sauna! 26’c was the reading on the climate control display however we were unable to alter it. After a couple of calls and a couple of hours, we finally had someone come up to the room with the magic equipment - a regular remote control! Our choice was “hot” or “cold” and we weren’t trusted with being able to set our own preferences or indeed keep what must have been a solid gold, diamond encrusted remote control “for security reasons”. If you’re going to give a reason, at least make it plausible. This hotel reminds me of faulty towers - Basil would be proud! It’s had a lick of paint but carpets don’t fit, taps / toilet / shower fittings are broken, wood paneling delaminated and deformed, doors out of order and the whole hotel generally is not well maintained… Considering the vast increase in room rate due to the boat show, it really was very poor value for money. At checkout we weren’t asked how our stay had been, only that they “hope our stay was good”. The only “royal” thing about it was the looks we got from the staff as we put our cases in our Bentley and left!
