The Malinche Palace is an astonishing villa designed by the world-famous architect Víctor Cañas, who is known for his contemporary style and utile approach to architecture.
The villa is located in Playa Ocotal on the top of a hill, giving it a truly breathtaking panoramic view of the beach, the ocean, and the stunning mountains and surrounding jungle of Costa Rica. With that, the house is still only 8 minutes walk from the beach, accessed by your own staircase. Additionally, the property is 6 minutes drive from the Playas Coco Downtown, as well as only 32 minutes away from the Liberia Airport.
The house’s design gracefully blurs the line between indoor/outdoor living, with floor to ceiling glass, picture windows, and open areas. This open feel creates an atmosphere of tranquility and connection with nature, while still allowing complete privacy in each guest room.
The property has eight air-conditioned bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, with a total of ten king beds. Each bedroom has its own spirit and style, giving each guest a unique and luxurious experience during their stay.
The detached casita is cliffside with a world-class ocean view, master suite, luxury bathroom, and private balcony.
Adjoining the main house is a two-story apartment with two upstairs bedrooms, a separate kitchenette, and dining area.
The Malinche Palace is ideally suited for family members of all ages, a couple’s retreat, corporate getaways, or the perfect destination wedding.
Overall, the house is estimated to fit 20 people, and if needed, the couches and air mattresses can be used to accommodate up to 30 people.

We just had an amazing week long stay with 4 families (8 adults, 11 children). Julia was a fabulous host, extremely responsive and welcoming. There was plenty of space for all couples and children to not feel crammed or on top of each other. The house had a fully stocked kitchen, freezer for ice and large refrigerator, oven and grill. The daily housekeeping that is included was an extra bonus. We easily arranged activities and transportation through Andrey and each family rented a golf cart, which I 10/10 recommend for getting to the beach and town. We had a fabulous time and highly recommend Malinche Palace.

We came with a large group and needed all 8 bedrooms. The house is amazing with the open air floor plan making it ideal for gathering together and hanging out around the kitchen and pool.Julia was great (friendly and professional) and was available for anything we needed. We had an issue with a couple rooms air conditioning not working well when we got there, but Julia had someone at the house within 30 minutes and the problem was solved and the ac was working great.The cleaning crew, led by Gloria, was friendly and did a great job daily of keeping the place clean and tidy. They do not speak much English, but can use translator app if there is any need. We had a friend who was fluent, so he did most of the communicating for us:)The house is in a great spot and within a 10 minute walk to the beach. We were able to charter a catamaran through Julia and they picked us up right on the beach. We also had massages at the home setup and they were great as well.Father Rooster is a close and convenient restaurant nearby with great food and drink and an unbelievable location for views.Would highly recommend and we would stay again for sure!

All our family rated this as one of the best vacations we've had so far. The property was as advertised with unbeatable views and near proximity to several local beaches. Everyone, particularly the kids, enjoyed jumping into the pool anytime and walking to a beach every day. The house had a well-stocked kitchen, outdoor kitchen with grill/burners, and with plenty of dishes, pots/pan, utensils even for serving/preparing meals for a crew of 18. The catered meals we had were generally well prepared and promptly delivered. We had rental cars making it very convenient each day to go to the local town Coco for groceries and supplies. Getting to nearby tourist activities and LIR airport was also easy and not an issue. The layout of the house has "open" living/common areas, so it is necessary to keep food secured as the wildlife (birds) are extremely opportunistic. There were a few maintenance issues with the house but Julia, the host, was always promptly responsive and great to work with. She and her staff, provided top-notch, friendly service whenever needed. While the house is situated in a nice area, there is a busy traffic road below (with some construction nearby). During certain times of the day (morning, evening) it does get noisy from traffic and mixed in with the wildlife (birds/monkeys etc.). But most hours were generally peaceful. I would recommend this property for a large group get together for a comfortable, relaxing good time.

Place was amazing, we had an awesome time. The sunset views was spectacular. Its very close to the beach. Julia was a fantastic host. Kids had a blast in the pool. The house was perfect for our group of 19. You will not be disappointed booking this place. Julia helped us renting golf cart, which we used to go around the town. Tons of places to eat in town. She also arranged for massages in house and that was perfect. I highly recommend booking this place.

We stayed at Malinche Palace over Thanksgiving for my 50th birthday, and it was incredible. Julia, the host, was warm and accommodating. The main house immediately impressed us with its beautiful indoor/outdoor layout. Each bedroom is uniquely designed with amazing views, and the kitchen is well equipped, which made group meals easy and fun.The property is large, offering plenty of space to gather as a group while also giving everyone privacy when needed. The honeymoon suite, set apart from the rest of the house, has breathtaking ocean and star views, truly calming and romantic. The small cliffside perch became one of our favorite spots, especially at night when the sky lit up with stars.We enjoyed relaxing by the pool and exploring the walkable area. One path leads to a great public beach and Father Rooster’s restaurant; another takes you to a secluded beach after a moderate hike. I’d recommend having at least one car for grocery runs and convenience.Julia’s team was fantastic. Andrey arranged all transportation and activities, including a private catamaran trip where we snorkeled, saw sea turtles, and even caught fish. Daily housekeeping was a bonus, Gloria was especially wonderful, and the chef-prepared dinners were excellent.Malinche Palace is truly special, beautiful, relaxing, and unforgettable. The only improvement would be updating the honeymoon suite’s décor, but overall, it was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it.

Costa Christmas!

The minute you walk through the door the view is stunning! The house is an amazing architectural wonder with a perfect view of Playa Ocotal. Close to Coco, walking distance to two beaches, and Father Rooster restaurant. You can get fishing trips and jet skis trips out of Ocotal. The house is tidied up each day and you can have a chef if so desired. The outdoor living is Costa Rica at its finest! Our family of 10 had more than enough space to spread out and relax. We appreciated all they did to make it a Christmas Vacation to remember.

Unbelieveable Experience!!

We were celebrating a friends 40th birthday with 7 couples. The house was amazing and setup perfectly for everyone to have there own space with a great common area and pool to hang out together. We only saw the owner at check in. We used Mauricio for all transportation and event planning. He’s wonderful! Very accommodating and gave suggestions for outings, grocery shopping and dining. The house is beautiful, but it’s outside living. All bedrooms have ac, but the rest does not. The views are gorgeous!

14 of us celebrated together and had a wonderful time. The host couldn’t have been more accommodating. She communicated great and always responded quickly if we had any questions. The chef service was worth every penny. Food was great and all the additional staff were amazing as well. The area was safe, the house was well stocked, and Mauricio was icing on the cake. He was so attentive to all of our needs and made everything happen for us without any hiccups! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a large space, love outdoors, sunsets and beautiful views!

Celebrating my 40th

Property fit us all well as, we had every room full. We had breakfast provided every morning which they serve huge portions, potentially could've order less. Housekeepers, professional and very sweet. We also, enjoyed massasages that were phenomenal. Maurico is the driver they recommended for the property, he was outstanding on communication with transportation to and from airport. He also set us up with golf carts to enjoy driving to Coco beach and throughout town. It made for awonderful way celebrate my birthday.

The home was lovely but is definitely in need of upkeep/repairs. Floor boards on pool deck areas are warped and lifting. The exercise area on the ground floor left a lot to be desired. Tile floors are very dangerous, even when pool deck is not in use. We were told by management not to close the doors around the kitchen because it was difficult, to watch the cleaning staff easily close them to clean, on the last day. This would have been helpful to keep the raccoons and skunk( hiding in the kitchen cupboards)out of the kitchen. The stairs in the 2 bedroom apartment are very dangerous and we had sewage odors from one of the bathrooms. If you are a home that sleeps up to 22 people, you should ensure that there is enough eating utensil to accommodate. The outdoor oven is slow heating and outdoor stovetop doesn’t work. The housekeeping staff were amazing and very helpful, keeping our rooms & bathrooms clean. Always had the pool and room towels fresh and plentiful. Communication leading up to our trip was perfect. While we were there and encountering the skunk living in the kitchen, management was not so helpful.

Womens Retreat

I hoated my annual womens retreat at this location. Everything was as described & the pictures do not do this beautiful home justice. Julia was very helpful and attentive, helping to ensure we had everything we needed leading up to the trip. Mauricio and Team were very helpful in planning excursions and getting us around. I recommend planning to use their transportation service instead of Uber due to the personalization of the experience and attentiveness of the drivers. The house was cleaned daily and the cleaning team did a wonderful job as well. I can’t say enough things about this home and the level of service and care provided. Looking forward to returning.

Malinche palace

We loved our stay at Malinche. The house is set up perfectly for large groups and families. Quick drive to various beaches, awesome pool for days at the house, Andrey was a great tour guide and the house cleaning and gardening crew were wonderful. We are restaurant folks and cooked most meals at Malinche. Could use a few bowls in the kitchen but we grilled, baked and sautéed with great success. Loved the open kitchen living area but could use a locked cabinet or box for foods that attract the birds and raccoons. The house is so well designed it really made for a very social hub while providing privacy in the bedroom suites. House has some minor issues such as: tv in garden room didn’t work, oceanfront casita toilet runs and the raccoons are quite skilled at getting into kitchen cabinets and trash. But overall it was pretty close to perfect and no one wanted to leave!!
