Great property overall, with exceptional service, very nicely maintained grounds, excellent pools and overall comfortable rooms. We booked a one-bedroom suite that says it "sleeps 4", thinking there was a pull-out sofa in the living room, but it's just two fixed couches - no bed. They are not comfortable for an adult to sleep on. They were able to bring a rollaway bed, but just a twin size. The dining options were the most disappointing, being that there are only two restaurants, and the food quality and selection was ok, but not great in our opinion compared to another resort we have stayed at. The proximity to the airport is very convenient but you do see and hear airplanes taking off on a fairly regular basis every day, especially in the afternoon. Overall a nice resort with great service that could be an exceptional resort with another restaurant option or two and an elevated menu.

This was billed as a place with great food and dining experiences. The food was mediocre at best and some of it was terrible. The only meals that were passable were the breakfasts due to the good fresh fruit. The suite we had was dated and not very comfortable. The furniture was old and worn. The suites need a serious updating to be competitive in the resort market. I cannot recourses place especially at the price point. We have stayed at much better places in PV for equal or less money.

Velas Vallarta offered us a wonderful time in Puerto Vallarta. The property was in great shape, the gardens were absolutely gorgeous and well-kept. You can tell a lot of work went into all of the greenery and variety of flora. The food was good, our favorite place to dine was Andrea where the quality was a bit better. The rest of the dining options were par for the course when it comes to resorts. We were happy the drinks were strong, which isn’t usually the case with resorts. The staff was extremely friendly. I was concerned after reading other reviews, but I found they were attentive and kind and cheerful, even when not interacting with us. My husband and I visited the spa, both receiving a massage and salt scrub. It was great! The facilities could be improved, but our services were exactly what we needed to feel restored and relaxed.

property and rooms were great. Food not so good. Room service better it seems. They cater more to the people there on time share as opposed to the all inclusive people. And if you are an older single female, service is not quite as good and I am paying more for a single room. Was still a nice resort to spend a week on the beach.

This is a lovely property with beautiful, well-maintained gardens and several lovely pools. Service was outstanding. The staff are lovely and incredibly welcoming to guests. The food is very good as well.

Enjoyable place to relax

We really enjoyed our stay! The pool and beach were both good places to relax and enjoy the ocean, and there were plenty of chairs in both locations with canopies. Also, no bugs at the beach. Wonderful! The food was good for breakfast and lunch, but we opted to go to the marina, which had better food for dinner. The lighthouse is a great dinner spot! We felt safe walking to the marina area, which I found to be a big plus of staying here in Puerta Vallarta. (Feeling comfortable to go off property.) It is very close to the airport, so planes are frequently in the air. The noise didn’t bother me, but it’s definitely noticeable.

We had a great stay. The only thing that could be improved would be to add more dining options. One night the wait and Ribera was over an hour so we just ordered room service.
