Staff, we felt like criminals after they locked us out of our room. We put our tea & drinks back to our room to pay for when we left in two days time but was rung up to bring a credit card in. We were exploring Ballarat & didn’t make it back till late & this is when we found out our door was locked. Our credit cards were in the locked room so pretty hard to pay, no apology when we went to see what the problem was, only pay up. Then we were sent an email explaining why it happened, very bad customer service. On departure the manager didn’t even keep eye contact or asked as normal ‘ how was your stay’ to say we will not stay at this place again. Never been treated like a criminal before.

We had a good, comfortable stay as a family. The room was spacious and worked well for us. However, during our 2-night stay, I expected the room to be cleaned and vacuumed on the second day, but only the beds were made. A bit more attention to housekeeping would improve the experience, especially for a family room.

My family and I had a wonderful two night stay at the Lake Inn Ballarat. We were very happy with our clean and spacious room, which included a convenient microwave we didn't even know we needed till we did. They also provided a cot for our entire stay for just $20. A major highlight was the attached City Oval Hotel, the food and drinks were excellent, making it incredibly convenient for dinner. The only minor drawback was that the hot water in the shower wasn't as hot as we would have liked. Overall, we had a very positive experience and highly recommend it for families.
