This is our first negative review. We left this property 3 nights early and relocated due to a strong odor in the home. The smell was deeply embedded - not a minor housekeeping issue. Based on our 30 years of experience owning many rental properties, this was not something that could realistically be corrected during a short stay.While odors can’t be captured in photos, we found visible pet hair along kitchen baseboards and noted plug-in air fresheners had been placed in the house (see pic examples). We encountered numerous live insects during the stay, including a dead cockroach in the kitchen upon arrival. We had to contact the owner the first night because the air was not cooling properly. We had to keep the thermostat at 68 afterwards to feel cool. But it was a wet cool. The AC did not seem to be pulling humidity out.The owner disagreed with us on the house issues. Said he and others inspected after we left. He offered a limited goodwill adjustment but no meaningful accommodation for the 3 unused nights we forfeited.Maybe this was an anomaly. But we would not stay at this property again.
