I originally booked thinking it was cute and quaint but upon arriving, there was no one to check us in for 15 minutes, they only took my credit card and charged it without ID or asking for any information other than my name, didn't even give instructions or the number to our room. The room smelled horribly of cleaning products, instantly gave my family headaches, so we opened the doors and windows with no change other than freezing cold. The lamp shades, carpet and walls had stains, we were scared to take our shoes off. Ultimately, we found a different hotel and left. At least the second desk attendant was understanding and helpful and tried their hardest to ensure we were refunded, although they were not able to do so. Not recommended, I would rather sleep in my car then step foot in this building again.

The Heron has a god location, reasonable rates, a comfy bed, and some nice amentiies in the room. It is billed as a "boutique hotel" - I think of it as a smaller, older hotel with some charm. As an older construction style wooden frame building it can be noisy room to room and even floor to floor, but it sure is nice when it's quiet. Although it is not style of breakfast, it was included in the price and seemed very popular with many guests.

This hotel has no surprises, itโ€™s exactly what you get for the price. It has an old school boutique hotel vibe which was great! The room was clean,it is a great location across from the beach and great restaurant next door. This hotel provided everything we were looking for and a great breakfast in the morning as well. Perfect for the price point. We will stay again. Thank you!

Character Hotel Stay

Customer service was excellent! They upgraded me to a suite to accommodate me checking in 15 mins earlier! Very friendly staff. The vibe is very old home character-ish with lots of antique furniture. The carpets definitely need to be changed but otherwise 10/10 stay. Also a bonus to wake up in front of the ocean. ๐Ÿ˜
